Tobacco use represents a human-created epidemic, with nicotine being its highly
addictive principal constituent. Despite a strong desire to quit among users, success
rates remain low, primarily due to a shortage of trained healthcare professionals.
A study revealed that over two-thirds of medical doctors expressed the need
for additional training in tobacco cessation. Tobacco addiction, while beginning as
experimentation, develops into a chronic brain disease, characterized by craving,
tolerance, and continued use despite harmful consequences.
