Background

The MI ECHO program will cover the foundational principles of Motivational Interviewing, including patient engagement, the spirit of MI (PACE—Partnership, Acceptance, Compassion, and Evocation/Engagement), practical application of MI skills like OARS (Open questions- Affirmations- \Reflective listening-Summarizing) and the practice of MI (Engaging-Focussing-Evoking-Planning) Participants will practice applying these skills in various stages of change, focusing on resolving ambivalence, eliciting change talk, and strengthening commitment to change. By the end of the program, participants will be well-equipped to use MI techniques effectively in addiction management contexts.
