Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the factors that are known to impact mental wellness among healthcare professionals
  2. Recognize and implement strategies that help build personal and professional resilience
  3. Identify and incorporate key skills into practice to cope with personal and professional-related challenges and enhance joy and meaning
  4. Incorporate self-awareness and self-monitoring in daily practice
  5. Identify and provide initial support for common mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, and substance use) among healthcare professionals
  6. Demonstrate skills in providing peer support and appropriate referral pathways for healthcare professionals in distress
Course Structure & Format

Live Tele-ECHO Sessions

Schedule: Every Thursday, 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM (90 minutes)

Platform: Zoom Healthcare ECHO & iECHO.org

Format:

  • Introduction & Updates: 5 minutes
  • Didactic: 20 minutes
  • Slido Quiz: 10 minutes
  • Case Presentations: 50 minutes
  • Closing Remarks: 5 minutes

Assessments

Two Online Assignments (75% score required)

Case Presentation (mandatory submission)

Attendance: 75% mandatory (minimum 9/12 sessions)

Video Presence: Required for 60 minutes per session

Eligibility & Accreditation

Who Can Apply

Faculty of medical colleges and consultants who have completed:

  • MBBS
  • MD/MS/DNB

Certificate Requirements

  • 75% attendance (9/12 sessions minimum)
  • 60 minutes video presence per session
  • One case scenario submission & presentation
  • Complete two assignments (75% score)
  • Complete pre-test and post-test

Evidence-Based Impact

NAMAH 1.0 Pilot Study Results

A pilot study with 32 physicians showed significant improvements:

  • Psychological Distress: Significant reduction in K10 scores (Cohen's d = 0.41)
  • Emotional Exhaustion: Medium effect size improvement (Cohen's d = 0.65)
  • Depersonalization: Large effect size improvement (Cohen's d = 0.94)

Research shows that teaching physicians about awareness and low-intensity interventions significantly helps in handling stress and improving emotional well-being.
