About the Course

The Advanced Certificate Course in Management of Addictive Disorders (ACCMAD 6.0) is designed to democratize knowledge and build capacity in addiction medicine. Our mission is to ensure the right care, at the right place, at the right time.

What is NIMHANS ECHO?

The "Hub and Spoke" model links an interprofessional specialist team at NIMHANS academic centre of expertise (the Hub) with healthcare providers (spokes). Each NIMHANS tele-ECHO session consists of speaker-led presentations of anonymized patient cases and discussion of the cases, whereby the peers as well as hub experts provide advice on diagnosis and management.

The Heart of This Programme

Case discussion by participants with guided practice by Hub is the "Soul" of this programme.

36 learners will present complex cases in weekly sessions, receiving feedback from experts and peers.

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate the factors associated with the development of Addictive Disorders by integrating vulnerability related to temperament/personality and environmental factors along with neurobiology
  • Formulate personalized management plans including pharmacotherapy and psychosocial interventions
  • Choose evidence-based interventions for different types of drug addiction
