Bihar Substance Use disorders for Counselors ECHOO

Background

Centre for Addiction Medicine through Virtual Knowledge Network ECHOO HUB and Spokesmodel conducted a course on mental health and addiction for Psychologists and Social Workers. The duration of the course was 6 months, from May 2018 to November 2018. Every fortnightly (Thursdays), the remote health providers joined through multi-point video conferencing zoom app between 9.30 AM to 12 PM and discussed their cases with the NIMHANS experts. The objective was on skill-based learning so that the remote patients get specialized care without travelling far place. Seventeen of spokes have become ‘Experts” in this area.

Objectives

1. Ability to decide what is “best practices” (without any disparity) with regard to  psychosocial intervention 
2. Proficiency in providing suitable intervention
3. Decision making about whom and when to liaising with Mental health expert doctors trained and connected to NIMHANS
